Fifth Crash [Voice/Action]

I thought I should let all of you know. Noelle's disappeared.
But I don't think it was a kidnapping. At least, I haven't found any signs. It's just that she and her things have turned up missing. And anyway, if she were around, she'd probably tell us not to worry about her.

[Your friendly neighborhood pilot can be found sitting outside Community Housing Building 4 with a writing pad on his knee, pencil idly tapping a heavily scribbled page. He seems to be judging the distance between his window and the nearest tree. This can't be good.]

[Although, Sync not liking Ion... Given Asch's grumblings about Luke, he supposes it makes sense. Maybe having other replicas around makes Sync insecure about himself or something?] Why do you think that is? Has he come out directly and said that he didn't?
[Voice] //filtered 50%
[Clearly it's a replica thing, to be able to say something like if I hadn't been born with a smile.]
...though I suppose it could be that our personalities are just too different for us to get along.

Hey, come on, don't go saying things like that!
Every person's life is their own, isn't it? Whether or not someone else had a purpose in mind, you should be able to do whatever you want with it, go wherever you want to, and follow whichever path you feel is right.
[Wow, this almost sounds blasphemous saying it to Ion's face, considering the position he holds in the Order. Or um... used to hold while he was alive.]
...Th-that's part of what all of you were working towards wasn't it?
So you see, it isn't your fault. Life could have gone differently for Sync, I won't deny that. But things didn't turn out that way, and even if they had, he still might not have been any happier.
I think Sync just needs to figure himself out. Maybe the only reason you aren't getting along is because he doesn't want to.

[His life was his own... he knew that already, didn't he? For all their similarities, both appearance and otherwise, he would always be a different person from his original. He has the freedom -- perhaps even more so in Luceti than he ever did on Auldrant -- to live his life however he chooses, in whatever way that makes him happy. Focusing on the "what-if's" wouldn't solve anything. It was something he thought he knew well...]
[But it doesn't hurt to be reminded every once in awhile. There are people here who care about him. And he has people here he can live for. If he hadn't been born... why, there's no real reason to even bother thinking about such a thing. Regardless of what it might mean for the future, you can't change the past. And selfish though it may be in regards to Sync, Ion wouldn't want to.]

...thank you, Ginji. I'm sorry, I think I was speaking rather thoughtlessly just now. Although it would be a lie to say I don't feel any guilt about being the only one chosen to succeed the original Ion, I truly am grateful for the life I was given.

[Fortunately Ion speaks up in time to spare Ginji from stubbing his fingers.]
That's good. And it's okay, Ion. No one can fault you for how you feel, but it's a bad idea to keep holding onto guilt about things you can't change. So try not to be so hard on yourself. I, for one, am pretty happy with the way things turned out. Otherwise we never would have met, right?
[He laughs weakly, the sound of someone letting out pent-up tension. He's still wondering if maybe he shouldn't have been a little more respectful somehow.] Besides, it's way too easy for a person to get caught up in their failures.

...you know, I think that's the first time someone's ever spoken to me like that about being a replica.
[That's probably not helping with Ginji's own little internal struggle over there, but he keeps talking.]
As the Fon Master, I always tried to encourage people to follow their own path in life. The Score was simply a guide to help those who had fallen off the right path... and even though our lives have gone in such different directions, it's still our choice to continue living as we do.
Every person's life is their own... I guess even the Fon Master-- no. I guess even I need to be reminded of that every once in awhile.
[Voice] //filtered 50%
...Guess there's a first time for everything. Though, the reason no one has before is probably because they know better than to lecture the Fon Master.
[He can't know to factor in that most people didn't realize what Ion was. But, Ginji doesn't feel too badly about speaking up, in retrospect. And it really is a good thing that he's met Ion, and Luke, and Florian... If all Ginji knew about replicas were the ones he encountered at the Tower of Rem, he'd have a very different opinion about them.]
I see. But not everyone thought about the Score like that. A lot of people held on like it was the only way to keep bad things from happening, and when they did anyway...they panicked.
I think we all need to be reminded sometimes. [Everyone's a unique individual as well as part of a team.]
