I thought I should let all of you know. Noelle's disappeared.

But I don't think it was a kidnapping. At least, I haven't found any signs. It's just that she and her things have turned up missing. And anyway, if she were around, she'd probably tell us not to worry about her.

[ACTION]
[Your friendly neighborhood pilot can be found sitting outside Community Housing Building 4 with a writing pad on his knee, pencil idly tapping a heavily scribbled page. He seems to be judging the distance between his window and the nearest tree. This can't be good.]

[Well well look who it is. Naoto was just making her way out of the building when she spots Ginji just sitting there.

Out of pure curiosity, she kneels down beside him and takes a look at the pad of paper on his knee, reading over it's contents carefully.]

...Going to attempt a jump?

[broji]

[He isn't really bothered by this too much. Ginji's used to people peering over his shoulder to see what he's doing. His lifestyle has never allowed much privacy.]

[Ginji scribbles down another set of numbers before turning his head in Naoto's direction.]

Something like that. Well, I guess once everything's in place it'll be more like a glide than a jump.

[And so she studies these numbers as he jots them down, tilting her head a little]

What is it that you plan on constructing?

I'm pretty sure it's called a "zip line".

[He gestures towards a cluster of trees with his free hand.] Starting up there somewhere and ending.... [he makes a controlled sweeping motion towards the window.] inside the window.

Yes, a zip line would be the correct term.

[She follows his motioning] For what purpose?

I thought it'd be a good way to brush up on physics. Acceleration, deceleration, air resistance force, methods for braking effectively...

[Ginji smiles, though he looks tired.] And it just seemed like it'd be a fun thing to do.

I see. That is quite a unique and intelligent way to familiarize one's self with a subject such as physics. [She likes you Ginji]

If you would like some assistance, I am willing to provide it.

Oh, I doubt this is the smartest way to go about it, but it's a bit more exciting than staying indoors with your nose in a physics book.

[He amends.] Since it's finally nice out and all. And sure, you're welcome to help out if you'd like.

It may not appear to be the most appropriate method, but it is much more effective than reading from a book. Reading from a book requires only memorization, this however allows one to execute the knowledge they know in a way that is hands on and enjoyable.

[She smiles] I do believe I would like to help. Simply tell me what you require assistance with.

[Ginji nods.] That's one way to put it, at least.

[That next bit requires a little thought. He'll scan his notes, glance over at the window with a faint "hmmm".]

Well, I've taken the measurements already. If there was someone at the window and someone standing around here, it'd make running the string and getting the angle right a lot easier. [Otherwise it'll involve a lot of running up and down hallways. And climbing up and down trees.]

Would you prefer it if I were to remain down here? [Since going into someone else's apartment is... okay it's fun to do that to see what they have and investigate BUT IT'D BE SLIGHTLY AWKWARD.]

Either way's fine by me, but one of us is going to have to climb. [He indicates the tree. Ginji doesn't seem to think that people poking around in his room is such a big deal. There's nothing for him to hide in there except for a few mechanical projects at varying stages of completion anyway.]

[She glances at the tree. Hmmm... she can climb (she does it pretty often actually) but if he doesn't mind--]

If it is all right with you, then I will go into the building and place myself at the correct window.

[broji]

That's fine. Or you could just go in through there if you don't want to walk all the way around. [He thumbs towards the window. It's not too hard to climb in and out of, being on the ground floor, and no one's accused him of being a burglar yet.] Either way the door's unlocked. It's Room 4. And there should be a coil of rope just inside on a desk - that's what we'll be using. Meanwhile I'll go find us a good branch.

I will walk. [Since. That seems to be more appropriate than climbing in through a window. Not that she wouldn't mind climbing in through a window BUT STILL.

She gives him a nod and stands up straight.] I will see momentarily then. [And gonna walk back inside the building to head towards his room]

Okay, sure. [Well, that works too. Ginji watches him (or is it her? who knows if he's figured it out yet) depart around the side of the building and then sets about gathering up a few tools he'll need and tucking them into his belt. Things should definitely get done a lot quicker this way.]

[After she makes it back to the window from the inside, Naoto will find him across the lawn, testing the soundness of the tree's branches. Every once in a while he'll check the window to make sure Naoto made it in all right.]
